NOTICE: Proposed Admission Arrangements (2024-2025)
In accordance with the DfE’s School Admissions Code September 2022, Violet Way Academy wishes to hear your views on its proposed admission arrangements for 2024/2025. We would like to confirm that we propose to make the following changes to the oversubscription criteria:
- removing priority for children of staff
- including priority for children in our nursery in receipt of early years pupil premium
- changing the overall order of the criterion
Your opinions are important to us, and we are keen to receive your comments on our admission arrangements before they are formally approved.
The consultation period was opened on Monday 3rd October 2022 and will close on Monday 14th November 2022
Any comments should be sent to: office@violetway.org
Admission into Reception
Full time places in Reception classes are available in September of the academic year within which the child becomes five years old. Although parents have the right to express a preference for Violet Way Academy, there is no guarantee of a place being offered. Admissions into Reception are managed by Staffordshire Local Authority. In some cases there may be more applications than there are places available. Admission when oversubscribed is determined by the oversubscription criteria detailed in the Determined Admission Arrangements document.
Online applications are now the preferred method of making a preference for schools at the normal age of entry. Parents who apply online are able to receive email notification of their school place on the national offer day, rather than through the post.

Non-Staffordshire parents should apply through their Home Local Authority.
